Parametric Analysis of Rainfall-Induced Loess Soil Slope Due to the Rainwater Infiltration

Hydraulic properties (such as soil–water characteristic curves (SWCC) and hydraulic conductivity function (HCF)) play an important role in evaluating the stability of unsaturated soil slopes. Loess soils are widely distributed Gansu Province China, most them conditions due to deep groundwater table (G.W.T). In this study, twenty-eight sets data published literature were analyzed develop upper lower bounds SWCC for loess Gansu. The variation HCF was estimated from curve developed study. Subsequently, numerical analyses incorporating scenarios considering different SWCCs, HCFs, rainfall conducted investigating effects those factors on rainfall-induced slope stability. results indicate that infiltration plays Higher permeable leads a larger amount, which, turn, safety factor. addition, effect property decreases with increase angle.
